赵的防区在山海关，没有任何必要在遵化去拼命。
他的领导袁崇焕蓟辽总督，这种时候正常的做法是亲率骑兵去堵截，而不是派手下去。
防线出了这么大的窟窿，敌人已经进来了，作为防区最大的领导自己不去堵，从政治上说，即便赵堵住了，他也是要承担责任的。
传首九边不至于，但是丢官是肯定的。
